Curriculum Vitae
Mission
To work towards creating a culture that is culturally inclusive and stimulating for students and staff to move forward to achieve individual and collective goals for themselves and the community. In any position, I attempt to bring change that will ripple effect from a single campus to the entire district.
Accomplishments and Results
As a Multicultural Collaborator:
I assisted in creating a rubric for assessing cultural inclusiveness at the campus level. This rubric is based on evidence and walk-throughs of community leaders and allows for goals to be implemented in the CIP.
I created training on diversity and microaggressions for district leaders. ▪ I am a member of the Midway United Multicultural Committee
I co-lead the Administrative committee about policies and procedures ▪ I have piloted Midway Middle School Cultural Considerations table talks for staff of color and have been the liaison to the leadership team on ways to be more inclusive and proactive.
I have consulted with other campus leaders on approaches and barriers to students, families, or staff members to allow for more meaningful and productive communication.
I have worked with district leaders to consider the next action steps for hiring, interviews, policy changes, and staff training.
I have assisted in district planning for multicultural celebrations
I have planned campus-level multicultural celebrations
I organized and implemented the Student Diversity Council at the high school level
I consulted on culturally sensitive information being sent to the community
As an Associate Principal:
I coached teachers during the T-Tess process, assisting them with better classroom management strategies, lesson pacing, and instructional distribution (differentiation strategies, applying SPED accommodations, etc.).
I managed parent involvement with students to create better relationships, which led to higher student performance in the classroom. I assisted and oversaw the process of mental health and social-emotional learning with the counseling department. I mentored student behaviors to reduce DAEP enrollment considerably.
Created morning systems for students to follow that regulated traffic flow, assisting students to the class and minimizing hallway incidents and other adverse events.
I have also conducted training for students on social-emotional strategies. As a member of the committee for the Transition Coalition, I participated in training to assist with the development of a training tool for the district about transition.
Teachers implemented these practices and observed incremental growth in their classrooms. I have also conducted training about diversity and equity for district personnel, parents, and staff of the Midway United Multicultural committee.
I have consulted on creating an efficient process for RTI, as well as participate in RTI meetings. I have also consulted in how to create an effective coaching cycle that created exponential results.
I also run the PBIS committee for the campus and collaborate processes that assist the culture of the campus.
As a Counselor:
I have counseled a wide array of students and teachers who have built better relationships, dramatically improving classroom performance. For teachers who did not understand specific student behaviors, I provided interventions and meetings, creating community environments to build student-teacher-parent connections. The results were decreased behaviors, elevating the teachers’ ability to connect instruction with the students.
Over the years, I have coordinated state testing for STAAR, maintaining a 0% error rate. I have maintained a reputation as a reliable testing coordinator by consistently implementing state testing regulations and reinforcing teaching training on securing testing items.
Performed as a campus liaison between the campus and various businesses, community outreach programs, and in-school programs such as CIS. In this role, I raised parent involvement, encouraging parents to attend more events and attracting businesses and public entities to contribute financially or in time to the school. Schools enjoyed more opportunities for their campus that they otherwise may not have, increased reputation locally, and better standing with their communities.
Other achievements in this role include, but do not end with, timely completion of master schedules with joint planning and mass student
scheduling; successful implementation of behavior contracts, providing systems of feedback, input, and other communications; and orchestrating numerous groups that aided in restoring emotional health of different students.
Create discipline protocols that include preventative, responsive, and reactive services.
I have consulted on interventions that allow students to grow academically and emotionally. Based on my findings, I have consulted administrative teams after reviewing data and conducting in-person surveys on how to implement campus-wide initiatives to assist schools in reaching academic and cultural goals.
